Become a volunteer

To get started, fill out the Volunteer Form and a member of our team will contact you. You must be 18 years or older to apply.


Child abuse clearances and criminal history checks are required to work with the children in our programs. To learn how to obtain your documentation, visit our Volunteer Clearances page for instructions and information.

Star Readers

Tutors are needed to help first and second grade students throughout Berks County improve their reading skills. Star Readers is currently in 12 school districts.

Read Alliance

Reading High School students are needed to tutor elementary school students. Student tutors receive a stipend and valuable work experience.
